This is Leonard McCoy, Chief Medical Officer aboard the USS Enterprise. Bridge, do you copy?

[ There’s a man in science blue standing next to the fountain, looking cold and grumpy as he shakes his device. ]

Damn interference… Enterprise, this is McCoy. I don’t know what the hell happened with those infernal transporters, but I’m damn sure I ain’t where I’m supposed to be. Scott, can you hear me? Jim? Uhura? Sulu? Chekov? Chapel? Anyone?

Spock?

[ Nothing, not even the hobgoblin. Dammit. ]

Right, well. Looks like I’ll try and blend in. Christmas music and all...

[ Except since his communicator couldn’t reach the Enterprise, it broadcasted his conversation to the entire city instead… ]

[She nods, smoothing her palms down the line of buttons, double-breasted, marching up and down the front of her coat. With nothing left for her hands to do, she's left to twist them together, not anxiously, but with the distinct impression of poorly restrained and balled up energy. Looking him over is more productive, and while Claire can tell that he isn't completely coming apart at the seams to have found himself in the middle of such a reality shift, there is some degree of comfort in finding him less than put together the way some people are. It lends a sense of credibility to his appearance, makes him seem more real and tangible.

A lot of people don't ask for help, a lot of them settle in and understand right away. It feels... normal for someone to actually react to even half the degree she would anticipate.]

Then you should be set. Some of it's... a little outdated, to be honest, but most of it still translates well. And a lot of us have been here for ever, so it's not like there aren't people you can't ask questions.

[Her eyes settle on his coffee, and she brings the body of her purse around to the front so that she can sort through it to find her wallet.]
